My Testimony

I was born in Kalamazoo, MI. Soon after we moved to Grayling, MI and began attending a Free Methodist Church in the same town. At the age of 7, I was invited to a Vacation Bible School at Calvary Baptist Church in Grayling by one of my friends. At this church we memorized Isaiah 53:6, "All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned everyone to his own way the Lord hath laid upon Him the iniquity of us all." I realized I was lost and on my way to Hell, and there at V.B.S. I knelt at the front of the church during the invitation and asked Jesus Christ to save me.

In 1986, at the age of 14 after an all day ski outing I became very sick and was later diagnosed with Becker's Muscular Dystrophy, an incurable disease affecting the muscles of the arms and legs. Because of this disease I began to seek the Lord, knowing that He had something special for me.

As a teenager, I began attending summer camp at Northland Baptist Bible College. Every summer at camp, God spoke to me through the visiting evangelists about full-time service, and even preaching. The camp ministry had a major impact on me and helped greatly in keeping my heart open to serving Him. After graduating from a Christian high school I began to seek the Lord's leadership about my future.

In the fall of 1991 I began attending Hyles-Anderson College. While at H.A.C. I was immersed in the bus ministry and benefited greatly from the practical experience as well as the academic training from Godly professors. As my disease progressed, however I was forced to move to a warmer climate. Subsequently, I completed my Bible college degree at Southeastern Fundamental Baptist College in Madison Alabama. S.F.B.C. is a ministry of Madison Baptist Church, pastured by Dr. Mike Allison. This is now my home church and will be the base for my ministry.

At the age of 19, God spoke to me about evangelism, and confirmed this after graduating from college. God has given me several areas to learn from, and I seek to fulfill God's calling on my life as an evangelist to the local church for the salvation of the lost and revival of the saints.

My Family

I was married on August 5th, 1995 to Renee, after meeting in college approximately 4 years prior. My wife was also saved at an early age after hearing a visiting evangelist speak at Carrey Baptist Church of Athens, AL. We have two children, Bethany and Michael. It is the desire of my family to do the will of God and to contribute to the work of God and to be a blessing to the local church. My wife shares the desire I have to win the lost and to equip the saints in this crisis hour.
