Prayer Letter

Thursday, January 17, 2008

Greetings,

Praise the Lord for His wonderful blessings in 2007. The Lord has done many things for us this last year and we are truly thankful to Him for those blessings. As we have previously written, the Lord graciously gave us a handicap accessible van, tires at no cost to us. In December I had the brakes done at the Lighthouse Baptist Ministry, a missionary helps ministry out of our church ran by Bro. Tom Palmer. When I went to give him the $162 dollars due, someone had heard of the repair and already had given him $100 toward the bill. Thank our Heavenly Father for knowing what we need at the right time even before we ask!

During the month of December we were blessed to be at our home church the whole month and participated in the Junior Church ministry. During the month of December a boy that had been coming for a while was saved after a worker talked with him. We did not know but this would be the last time he ever attended the church. While visiting family in another town, he ran out in front of a car and was tragically killed in this accident. However, while at MBC Junior Church he trusted Christ and his last breathe on earth marked the first day of eternity in heaven with Jesus. This served as a stern reminder to me of how important our work with children is in light of eternity. In Dec. we were able to preach twice in this children’s ministry. Also, we have started going to a boys detention home where our church has a ministry, on the third Monday of every month. Please pray that the Lord will bless this important ministry.

Recently, our pastor preached on the three judgments for the Christian. Our past judgment on the cross, our present judgment of chastening and the future judgment for all Christians at the judgment seat of Christ. In this new year we must reach more souls, pray more than ever, and serve God fervently so that we may be found faithful and will be ready to meet the Lord His soon coming.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

In 2008 we ask that you pray for our ministry for open doors and the Lords blessing. I am also praying for a new power chair right now and ask that all reading this would pray with me and we will wait and see what wonderful things God does this year.

Thanks again for praying for our ministry and if we can ever help you or pray for you please email me at, evangelistjgray@aol.com.

Until He Comes,

Bro Jim Gray and Family
